The Work-Based Learner

Uni is kosher says professor

A PROFESSOR today defended standards at Edinburgh University, following the high-profile slight on The Apprentice TV show.
Margaret Mountford, one of Sir Alan Sugar’s advisers, suggested “Edinburgh isn’t what it used to be” after classics graduate Michael Sophocles admitted he didn’t know what kosher food was.

Inspired, I’m now developing a pitch for UniversityTV. The Work-based Learner will offer the ultimate student experience. Students undertake a series of work-based assignments, peer assessed by their fellow students, moderated by a board of examining employers led by Sir Alan Sugar and Andrew Lloyd Webber - competing for the chance to get a degree and a leading role on the West End Stage. And in an exciting multi-media collaboration, viewers will get the chance to vote for the work-based learner of their choice, influencing national newspaper league tables.
